Detailed Product Description
High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting technology replaces the tungsten filament
of incandescent light bulb with a capsule of gas and metal halide mixture. Because
the gas filled containing xenon that it is also called Xenon Discharge Lamp.
The light is emitted from an arc discharge between two closely spaced electrodes
hermetically sealed inside a small quartz glass envelope. The light emitting arc
is first achieved by applying a high voltage, which usually can reach as high
as 23 kV, across the electrodes to break down the resistance between electrodes
so that the gases or vapors inside the lamp may start conducting. Then regulate
the flow of current by using electronic ballasts, which supply stable voltage and
current to maintain the light-emitting arc. While consuming less power, the amount
of light produced by this HID is greater than conventional halogen bulb, and
its color temperature is closely approximate to natural daylight.
